Yang Hyun-jong (KIA Tigers) has been removed from the first team roster after failing to meet expectations with poor pitching.
Ahead of their game against the Kiwoom Heroes on Saturday, the Korean baseball organization KIA removed Yang Hyun-jong and left-handed reliever Kim Ki-hoon from the first team roster and recalled Park Joon-pyo and Kim Jae-yeol.
Yang Hyun-jong took the loss in the previous day’s game against Kiwoom, allowing seven runs on six hits, including one home run, and four walks in 5⅔ innings.
He hasn’t added a win in more than a month and a half, taking three losses, since picking up his fifth win of the season (7-2) at the expense of SSG Landers on March 6.
His fastball velocity has dropped significantly, leading to a 7.71 ERA in the last three games of the season.
Yang Hyun-jong, the mainstay of KIA’s starting pitching staff, will make an adjustment in the second team and return to the first team in 10 days. 메이저사이트
The team will be looking for a replacement starter or bullpen arms to fill Yang’s void.
Kiwoom’s Ariel Hurtado was left out of the first team to rest, and Ha Young-min was named to the roster in his place.
