Niklas Fühlkrug could soon be wearing a Dortmund jersey.
Florian Plettenberg, a reporter for Germany’s Sky Sports, tweeted on Monday (Jan. 31), “It’s a done deal. Fühlkrug is going to Dortmund. It’s been confirmed that he has a contract until 2026. Everything has been finalized. The medical, the contract, and the announcement have all been finalized. The transfer fee is 15 million euros (approximately KRW 215 million).”
After narrowly missing out on the German Bundesliga title last season, Dortmund bolstered their squad this summer with the likes of Marcel Zabitser, Felix N’Mecha, and Rami Bensebiani. But with the departure of Jude Bellingham, they were in need of a player with more pace and attacking firepower. With rivals Bayern Munich bringing in big names like Harry Kane and Kim Min-Jae, the need for reinforcements was even greater.
With the likes of Yusufa Mukoko, Donil Malen, and Karim Adeyemi on the attacking line, we wanted someone who could lead from the front. We had Sebastien Haller, but he was too much to carry alone.
That’s why Dortmund signed Fulkruk. The German international striker was the Bundesliga’s top scorer last season. Robert Lewandowski left for Barcelona, and Pucruk took his place. Fühlkrug is a wait-and-see striker. He rose steadily from the German lower leagues to become the Bundesliga’s top scorer. 먹튀검증
He played for Nürnberg and Hannover. With Hannover, he showed that he could score goals in the Bundesliga. He then moved to Werder Bremen. After a disappointing start, he burst onto the scene in 2021-22 when Bremen were in the second division and won promotion, and last season he was the top scorer in the Bundesliga with 16 goals in 28 appearances.
He earned a call-up to the German national team and showed off his goalscoring prowess while filling in up front. He is a typical number 9 striker. Good physicality and concentration in the penalty box. I like to push forward with my physicality. It’s not just his physicality, but also his ability underfoot. His link-up is good and his ability to keep the ball is excellent. If he goes to Dortmund, we expect him to score goals and improve the quality of the second line.
