Kim Joo Hyung tied for 12th in European BMW Championship, 6 strokes off lead

Joo Hyung Kim, 21, is tied for 12th place after the third day of the BMW PGA Championship on the European Men’s Professional Golf DP World Tour ($9 million purse).

Kim shot a 3-under 69 in the third round of the tournament at the par-72 Wentworth Golf Club in Virginia Water, Surrey, England, on Sunday (July 17) to sit in a tie for 12th place with Viktor Hovlan (NOR) at 10-under 206. He is six strokes off the lead with Aberg Ludvig (SWE) at 16-under 200.

Kim opened with a birdie on No. 1 before adding birdies on No. 2 (par-3) and No. 6 (par-4) before closing with a bogey on No. 7 (par-4). In the second half, she added a birdie at the 12th (par-5) with a two-on, and a second birdie at the 14th (par-3) when she left her tee shot two meters from the hole. The rest of the holes were all pars.

This is the first time in nearly two months that Kim has competed in a tournament in Europe since the Genesis Scottish Open and The Open in July. He finished tied for sixth at the Genesis Scottish Open and tied for second at The Open, the highest finish ever by a South Korean player. 안전놀이터

The tournament was a final tune-up for a number of European players who are competing in the Ryder Cup, the men’s golf competition between the United States and Europe that begins on Sept. 29.

Tommy Fleetwood (England) is tied for second at 14-under par 202, while Jon Rahm (Spain) is tied for seventh at 12-under par 204.
