Park Jae-beom, MC Mong, Big Bang…Hwang Sun-hong Ho’s ‘first’ ‘BGM’ at the training ground, and Jung Woo-young’s ‘small’ selection of songs

Songs echoed through the training center as Huang Sunhong booked his spot in the round of 16 early.

It’s Feb. 22 at the Jinhua Sports Center Auxiliary Stadium in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, China. A day after the Asian Games men’s soccer team, led by Hwang Sun-hong, booked their place in the round of 16 with a 4-0 win over Thailand in their second group game of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.

The team arrived at the training center in the team bus. They laced up their soccer cleats before stretching. For the first time during this training, ‘BGM’ filled the training center. 굿모닝토토

The national team is led by players born in 1999. Park Jin-seop (Jeonbuk Hyundai), who joined as a wildcard, is the most experienced player, born in 1995. Two other wildcards, Baek Seung-ho (Jeonbuk) and Seol Young-woo (Ulsan Hyundai), are not much older at 1998. The national team even has a player born in 2002, which puts them in their early to mid-20s.

However, most of the songs played were released in the 2010s. Starting with Park Jae-beom’s “Okay,” MC Mong’s “Ice Cream” and “I Love U Oh Thank U” came out. “Ice Cream” is from 2006 and was followed by BIGBANG’s “Loser”.

It was the first song to be played at Hwang Sun-hong’s training center, so the choice of song was of interest. There was some speculation among reporters that it might be Park Jin-seop, the best player on the team. However, according to a team official, Jung Woo-young played the song through his own speakers. The song was on his playlist. Before training began, “Super Shy” by NUJINS was played. The song was turned off after training began.

With the round of 16 secured, the team has a lot of time on their hands. As the third round is on the 24th, there was an upbeat atmosphere in the training two days ago.
