He’s on the crab’s side after all. Boxing legend Lennox Lewis, who won the IBF and WBC heavyweight world championships in 2001 and was inducted into the 20th International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2009, raised Tyson Fury’s hand. Fury, the reigning WBC heavyweight champion, was judged to have dominated against former UFC heavyweight Francis N’Ghanou. 굿모닝토토 도메인
Lewis indicated that the judges were correct in their judgment of the boxing match between Fury and N’Gannu, which took place at the Boulevard Hall in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Sept. 29 (ET). He said Nganu fought very well for a professional boxing debut, but that Fury landed more effective shots.
“I felt Fury won,” he said in his post-fight interview. He landed more punches,” and “N’Ghanoue showed poise and patience. I could see him waiting for the perfect opportunity.” “Fury didn’t look like he was at 100%. He looked like he was warming up for a big fight with Oleksandr Usyk.”
Fury and N’Ghanu fought an unexpectedly close fight on Sept. 29. Leading up to the fight, most expected Fury, the reigning heavyweight world champion in boxing, to dominate N’Ghanou, who was making his first professional boxing appearance. While there’s no denying N’Ghanoue’s incredible power in the UFC, the consensus was that Fury would have an easy time with his technical advantage and experience.
But when the lid came off, it was a different story. Fury didn’t have an easy time cooking Nganu from the start. He fought an exploratory round one and two, and in round three, he was put down by a left hook from Nganu. Fury recovered and fought back in the mid-to-late rounds, but struggled with Nganu’s relentless rushes.
When the bell rang to end the 10th round, Fury and Nganu raised their hands, each confident of victory. The score was 2-1 in favor of Fury. The scores were 96-93, 95-94, and 94-95. After the match, the officiating controversy reared its head. Many argued that N’Ghanoue, who took the takedown and was aggressive in the clinch, won the fight. Conor McGregor, the reigning UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, said, “N’Ghanoue landed some great punches (on Fury). It was a crazy fight.”
